As a refugee from the 60's and the coffee house era, I have been playing as a solo artist as well as in various duets, trios and bands from Canada to England, India, Nepal, USA, and places in between... played in classic rock, country and folk bands. I try to keep my songs as light and personal as possible in the acoustic genre. A lot of my songs speak on social issues and I try to relate to the common man/woman (like myself) and the things that are important in our journey thru this time span called life. The recording/production is not professional by any means. I usually try to do one-off takes and work around the tracks to enhance the sound in the limited time and equipment I have available. I hope some of these songs will touch a place in your heart or evoke a feeling of shared consciousness. All comments and critiques are welcome. All the best.

Story behind the song
This song is a tribute to the families and loved ones of the 229 victims of SwissAir Flight 111 which met its sad end off the shores of Peggy's Cove,Nova Scotia in Sept. of 1998. It is also a tribute to the people of Peggy's Cove, who set aside personal comfort and safety to extend open hands and hearts to make it as easy as possible for the victims' families to deal with this tragedy...I have the song narrated by the spirit of a long-ago shipwrecked sailor who guides the souls of the victims of sea disasters..to their spirit home.
Lyrics
Our sons and our fathers all go out to sea Each generation spawns fishers like me With the salt in our eyes and the wind in our hair We know certain danger lies lurking out there. I was all of forty-one when the sea took my life Off the shores of Peggy's Cove, leaving children and wife Now I continue to watch along this rocky shore For fishers who come out, to return no more. Chorus: And the sea, she takes another toll And the waves continue to roll And we pray and we pray for lost souls. In the still of the ev'ning there wasn't a care Till the fate of the sea met the fate of the air People stood looking upward, not making a sound As Flight 111 came noseward down. Now,many a seaman meets watery grave But 229 at a time 'neath the waves Brought a flood of emotion as news spread far and wide The world's eyes were focused on the changing tide. Chorus: Bridge: And the pain and the loss was felt by all around As families and loved ones came to our humble town To gather some memories..to look out from the shore Like our mothers and daughters have done many times before. In the village the people opened heart and home They treated this disaster as if it were their own And brave men on the waters risked their very lives To bring a seed of comfort to husbands and wives. I say to you of the living of heartache and pain Take care of each other until we meet again And I'm a shipwrecked sailor who's destined to roam The shores of Nova Scotia, leading others home. Chorus

Howdy Gordy, Truly an awesome melody and superb lyrics....are you sure that you're not Gordon Lightfoot? 8 ) This is an inspiring tribute to the folks of Peggy's Cove and the victim's families.....well sung and presented lyrically in an interesting angle with sensitivity and class......a great listen all around!!!! Sorry, I haven't had a chance to get back more quickly.....but I'm glad to finally had the chance!!!!! Respectfully, Wade
