A wonderful blend of smooth jazz, funk, dance and world music centralized through the piano, acoustic guitar and the occasional synth lead..
ALL of the compositions you hear here start with one simple truth - without God, I could do nothing but because of HIM, all this is possible!
Each and every effort is a serenade to Him, as I owe Him every song.
Over the years, I've learned new things about song composition and have always been willing to push the boundaries of sound. I was trained as a musician and recording engineer as a child, learning to put together melodies when I was only 7 years old. This was at the height of jazz fusion where lead instrumental improvisation was king. Although I was trained early on to read and write sheet music, this improvisation has shaped my writing. Now, I write from my heart.
The songs represented here are the culmination of my ventures. Each new song is a lesson in itself as I am a never ending student of music, sound and the new and emerging recording processes. As you listen, keep in mind these are my intimate conversations with God. My conversations are sometimes upbeat, sometimes somber, but never boring. In all, I share these songs so that you may enjoy the music.

Ohhh...I really like this one. Very funky and jazzy...reminds me of when I would visit a friend of mine in NYC and would listen to the great jazz stations down there. Lovely combination of synth and guitar.

Arlen, lovely work again here as expected. I like the occasional off-beat drum fills. Small details like this keep things interesting. Nice combination and blend of acoustic, keyboard, and synth elements. It's not always easy to make that work, and its clear to see that you've accomplished this here. Excellent work!

Hey Mr. Grant it sounds like you had fun with this one. Great
guitar solo, it feel like you are here in my studio which is surrounded by seventeen feet of snow. In the background I hear all kinds of hip strange thanes going on, which bring me to this incredible mixing thing you got going on the last three songs . I can't see the bar anymore . The mix on this song is really good as all your mixes are but there is something different here my friend. Great job.

Hey Arlen,
Fantastic alluring 8 bar Rhodes introduction with drum pick-up on the 8th (I just love that) which shifts into pure acoustic sonority heaven with modern Jazz/R&B styling’s. Remarkable acoustic solo work. As always, your rhythms and various groove elements are masterfully rendered. A real splendid tribute.

pure magic on this one. just wonderful soloing. well done. gabe
Hey Arlen, now I found you. A fresh sound, optimistic. There is very much happening in between the different synth players (probably it's all you). Woven melodies. All is going in circles. For me there could be a moment where you go out of it, something different somewhere (just a thought). It's on my playlist now, because of the nice, fresh mood. Good job! Greetings from Belgium.
