"One thing that immediately stood out for me is how well each song on this album is structured. I was particularly impressed with Sam's enviable knack for writing a great pre-chorus. [I can't even write pre-choruses at all, let alone good ones.] Numerous times throughout the album [sometimes even in the same song] there's been a change and I've thought, 'Ooh, nice chorus' - only for another change to come and reveal that the catchy, hooky little part I'd been humming along to was just a build up to the even catchier, hookier REAL chorus! And then often there'll be a clever little bridge/middle-8-type part towards the end to top it all off! Fantastic! Because vocals are at the forefront of the songs, the album relies a lot on its lyrics. For me [in the reviewer role], this was a little bit of a concern, because when I usually listen to music, lyrics are one of the last things I pay attention to.
