Story behind the song
I happened to be at a church rec hall in the southern US where they were offering "open gun carry" lessons. Hey, the Bible says "those who live by the "sword" die by the sword", not guns :) "Hello, I"m here today to teach you about how Jesus, if he were with us now, would want you to carry and care for your guns..."
Lyrics
Theres this easy guy who wouldnt hurt fly But he knows the truth from an evil lie And its not hard to know basic right from wrong But the truly innocent too often dont live long Lennon died in vain, Nietzsche went insane Hitler made a mockery of suffering and pain Jesus bought a gun, Mohammeds on a tear Moses back on Masada and Buddhas quite well aware Vilify me or justify me, its all the same Or nullify me, its ok, or dignify me, its all the same This worlds all upside down, complex and turned around Creature comforts, yeah they're nice, but oh, at what a price What we call success too often makes a mess False values slash our eyes and ears and cause such painful tears Cobain died in vain, Tesla went insane The NRAs a slithering, scheming, callous shame Jesus bought a gun, Mohammeds on a tear Moses back up on Masada and Krishnas quite well aware Vilify me or justify me, its all the same Or nullify me, its ok, or dignify me, its all the same
