Story behind the song
A song about two friends of mine that I've never met from Slickville, PA. The song started out to mock the characters, but it didn't end up that way.

Lyrics
Earl and Martha’s Redneck Family Twenty miles outside of Slickville live Earl and Martha Baptist, up before the sunlight every day; Earl milks the cows, Martha feeds the chickens, they wouldn’t have it any other way. One hundred twenty acres of good ol’ redneck livin’, hard-workin’, God-fearin’ ol’-time tradition; that’s the way it’s been, that’s how it be, for Earl and Martha’s redneck family. They’ve had their indoor plumbin’ for six or seven years now, Martha thinks the radio’s jest swell- but Earl wants a TV, and Martha’s too afraid, ‘cause the preacher says the’ll wind up damned to Hell! Earl needs a brand-new pick-up, Martha wants to save, even though their ’44 Ford rolled away, straight down the cornfield and right on through the barn- wastin' sixteen pigs along the way. I don’t understand how they survive today, livin’ in the city’s fine for me; but Earl and Martha’s good folks, jest set in their way - livin’ their lives of harsh simplicity.
